Who Is Leaking?

Am I the only American who thinks the real culprit in the eavesdropping is NOT President Bush, but the traiter who leaked the programs the President has put in place to catch the bad guys before they strike us again? I don't think so! It infuriates me that someone could want to discredit the President so bad, that they would put Americans in harm's way! This article illustrates my point, referring to the unholy witch hunt that went on over the Valerie Plame nonsense:

"Since then there have been some considerably more serious security breaches. Major media organs have broken news about secret prisons run by the CIA, the interrogation techniques employed therein, and the use of "renditions" to capture suspects, right down to the tail numbers of covert CIA aircraft. They have also reported on a secret National Security Agency program to monitor calls and e-mails from people in the U.S. to suspected terrorists abroad, and about the Pentagon's Counterintelligence Field Activity designed to protect military bases worldwide"

Where is the outrage? Why no cries for special prosecutors? Is the left really that invested in our defeat in the war on terror? Why are they so willing to put our security at risk to discredit the President?

Apparently they are, and I am praying there is someone in the Justice Department who will DO JUSTICE to their recently announced investigation into who is leaking this information! [I did not link to the "grey lady's" article, because I refuse to advertise for those traitors!] I've missed blogging...my blood pressure has missed it too. I feel better now. I feel even better knowing that this is going to have a backlash on the Donks in '06. They've obviously proven they cannot be trusted with our national security!

HELP!!

I finally have the router up and running, and I am getting the hang of my laptop. There is just one problem I am having! I can always count on getting answers from the blogosphere, so if anyone can help me figure out one tiny problem, I'd be ever so grateful! How in tarnation do I copy/paste with this little "mouse" pad? My manual says to "tap it lightly".....tried that, didn't work! It's a tough job to be a blogger and not know how to do a copy/paste! I hate to go buy a wireless mouse just for the laptop, but unless I learn from y'all how to accomplish this little task, I'll just have to blog from the desktop when I am home!

If my font looks funny, and there's no "bold" or huge title size, you'll know why, right? Thanks in advance for any elucidation!

Wingnuts!

Do y'all know what a wingnut is? I know, it's something we call liberals...when we aren't calling them moonbats. But it is also a mechanical device. Will someone please explain to me why Susan Turnbull was wearing wingnut earrings on her Fox News appearance tonight? She was attempting to debunk/dishonor/rebutt the president's speech from the Oval Office tonight...with no success.

In an earlier interview with Chris Wallace, Harry Reid, His Dinginess from Nevada, epitomizes why these folks cannot be trusted with out nation's security. Tonight, before the President's speech, he reminds us why he and his party cannot be trusted ...

He was celebrating the left's defeat of extending the Patriot Act. He tried to deflect attention by decrying "corruption" from the Republicans. He denied, despite the public records to the contrary, that he's received money from Mr. Abramoff. I always find it amazing how the left assumes the ignorance....the STUPIDITY of the American people [as they see us] that we would not check the records!

Do they not know that we know they HAVE taken money from the same lobbyists they castigate their opponents for dealing with....? Is that not the height of hypocrisy!

"Don't lump me in with Jack Abramoff. This is a Republican scandal," Reid told Fox News Sunday, saying he never received any money from Abramoff.

Reid, like many members of Congress, Democrats and Republicans, has received campaign contributions from Abramoff clients. Some lawmakers have returned those donations, but Reid gave no indication he would do so."

From "wing nut" earrings to "corruption", the left is doing an abysmal job of deflecting criticism from themselves toward the GOP...without remembering to wash their hands first.

RINOs and Donks Betray US

The death of the Patriot Act by a 52 to 47 vote is so disturbing, so frightening the day after the Triumph of the Iraqi people's vote is unconscionable! How DARE our so-called governmental protectors, i.e., our congressional representatives in the Senate remove our ability to protect our country?

On December 31st, the Patriot Act will cease to protect our country from al-Qaeda cells embeded in America. The RINOs in the senate have abdicated their duties to our country, and they should be voted out in the '06 elections. Are you folks in Nebraska paying attention? Your elected coward of a senator, Chuck Hagel, lied to you again. We need to vote all of you are Republicans In Name Only (RINO) OUT of office!

As for Democrats, they cannot be trusted to hold the house, the senate, and most especially the White House until the threat of Islamofacists terror is wiped of the face of the earth! To prove my point about why the Democrat party can not be trusted with the protection of our country, I'll let Nancy Pelosi demonstrate:

"There is no one Democratic voice . . . and there is no one Democratic position," Pelosi said in an interview with Washington Post reporters and editors.

Pelosi recently endorsed the proposal by Rep. John P. Murtha (D-Pa.) for a swift redeployment of U.S. forces from Iraq over a period of six months, but no other party leader followed, and House Minority Whip Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) publicly opposed her.

She said her support for Murtha was not intended to forge a Democratic position on the war, adding that she blocked an effort by some of her colleagues to put the Democrats on record backing Murtha."

It's not just John sKerry who flip flops, but Nancy Pelooser and her whole party are flip flopping like a bunch of fish out of water!

"Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean recently said Democrats were beginning to coalesce around a strategy that would pull out all troops over the next two years. Rep. Rahm Emanuel (Ill.), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said on the day Murtha offered his plan, "As for Iraq policy, at the right time, we'll have a position."

They'll have a position? Are they afraid to say, all of them together, that they would pull our troops out of Iraq?

Why is it so hard to say what we should do? How difficult can it be to just say that we need to win the war on terror, because we can't afford to lose it? Yet every position they put out, every statement they make, whether it is the economy, or the war, they can only prevail if America loses. As a friend said recently, "it must suck to be them!".

The Brave Iraqis Deal The Donks A Blow!

They can't win an election in America, and they lost the election in Iraq! The brave Iraqis flocked to the polls, and all indications from Pajamas Media and ITM indicate that they are proving the donks to be idiots! In the Kurdish north, most news media and the donks would have us believe the Kurds are separatists, and could cause a rift, a.k.a., a "civil war", but that does not appear to be true;

"In center #24 in downtown Erbil I have talked to a number of voters after they cast their ballots and most of whom said they gave their votes to list 730 the Kurdish alliance.Mr. Kamal Serwan expressed his happiness with the process and said “I voted 730 because it is the list that grants us a federal Iraq and protects our rights…”

Well how about the situation in Samawa? In addition to voting, they are taking part in a very democratic activity;

"There were also numerous fixed and mobile patrols and checkpoints on the streets and some streets were closed with concrete block, however this hasn’t stopped the residents of Samawa from demonstrating against al-Jazeera TV in response to yesterday’s irritating show that directed harsh criticism to Ayatollah Sistani."

Apparently al-Jazeera is not the beloved Arab TV station they imagined! Ah, the sweet taste of democracy! The costs are high, the rewards are great, aren't they?

I can hardly wait to be able to visit this legendary country. The biblical city of Babylon was voting too.

"Starting from 7 am all the polling centers in Babylon opened their doors to receive the voters, the turnout was light in the first three hours but it increased after that in a good way.The first voter was a disabled man, Jasim Hameed (65) he attended at 6:30 am and insisted on being the first one to vote.When he put the paper in the box said "I'm here at this early hour to challenge the terrorists who want to kill the democratic process in Iraq and I want to encourage the healthy people to vote”."

You have to visit ITM see all the uplifting photos the brothers, and their fellow Iraqis have collected of this historic day. I have been eagerly anticipating the news from Mosul. Isn't Mosul the home of Sunnis who would cause a civil war?

"Officials from the IECI office in Mosul announced that turnout levels were as high as 80% of registered voters in many polling centers and this figure is expected to go even higher n the afternoon since that’s the time housewives find best for going out!"

After hearing on Laura Ingraham's show this morning that Joe Biden was in Iraq for the election, yet was still managing to sound negative to the American press, I was curious as to what the Iraqis heard from him. The bloggers filled me in;

"Senator Joeseph Baiden who accompanied the ambassador Khalilzad in his visit to Babil emphasized the importance of succes of democracy in Iraq and expressed his hope that the new parliament will be capable of enforcing law and stabilizing the country."

Spelling aside, at least Biden had the good sense to sound a bit less pessimistic to the Iraqis. His pessimism notwithstanding, the heart warming stories being shared are phenomenal;

"Muhaisin Bidairy Abdullah who was born in 1900 and I think he is the oldest amongst the voters came leaning on his grandsons and could hardly breathe with tears visible in his eyes…maybe because he won’t be able to attend the next elections." [picture included at ITM]

I have had the biggest grin on my face ALL DAY! My finger is not purple only because I couldn't find any purple ink to dip it in! There must be lots of Texans running around with purple fingers! Our troops should be busting their buttons off their uniforms for helping to bring this momentous day about for the Iraqis. The Murtha quote that has been spouted all over the air waves for weeks that "80% of Iraqis want us out", and that our army was broken and worn-out, has been demonstrably proven to be a huge LIE! Shame on you, Murtha. I don't giving a flying *$*$ in a rolling donut that you are a decorated veteran! You should be ashamed of yourself, Mr. Murtha! Anyone who refuses to see the remarkable, historic, and joyousness of today is either braindead, or a liberal! As for me, I am a proud American.

It's About Dadgum TIME!

For weeks, I have been complaining about whomever it was running PR in the White House. I've not been the only one, because he finally got the messages, and got out there to toot his own horn! After only a couple of speeches, his numbers began to turn around!

In the meantime, Howard Dean came up with a sound byte of all sound bytes, right here on my hometown radio station,
WOAI . Then the moron John sKerry added to the cacaphony of ridiculous comments from the left, accusing our troops of terrorizing Iraqis. Let us not forget Nancy Pelosi's demand that we leave Iraq right after the December 15th elections. Well, miracle of miracles, our GOP pals at the RNC are fighting back!

"A Democratic strategist who had the web ad described to her said, “This is way over the top but we have no one to blame but Dean, Kerry and others who continue to pander to the anti-war activists within our party.”

The web video advances the Republican contention that the Democrats only have a “retreat and defeat” message on the war in Iraq. The video highlights the effect Democrats can have on the morale of U.S. soldiers.

One Republican strategist familiar with the ad said, “The Democrats, especially Howard Dean have a way of trying to turn the tables and say ‘that’s not what I meant’ – its just those ‘evil Republicans’

This video will make them crazy – it reinforces what they really believe with what they actually said – and that is devastating for the Democratic Party.”

They've been waiting for a sound byte from the President saying he'd 'made a mistake' to use in the '06 election, but instead we have a plethora of their sound bytes to use against them. Isn't it about TIME we started to shoot their nonsense back at them? Hallelulia!

Correction On Yesterday's Post

It was not Tim Russert to whom John sKerry was talking this past Sunday. Sorry. It was Bob "Shufflin" Schieffert on Face The Nation. It should be called "Disgrace The Nation", since Bubba Shufflin never even questioned sKerry's outrageous comments that our troops were "terrorizing" women and children in Iraq...even when he finished the comment with another sKerrism, i.e., that it was Iraqi soldiers who should be terrorizing them! What a moron!

More later, if time allows.

Shrillary Gets Heckled

You have to love watching Shrillary Rob'em Clinton being heckled while she's trying to be someone she just is NOT; a "moderate".

The former first lady was onstage only a few seconds when the crowd erupted with shouts of "Troops out now! Troops out now!"

It must be very embarrassing for the so-called 'smartest woman in the world' to have such moronic followers in her base.

He's At IT Again

John F'ing sKerry is again denigrating our troops. What this traiterous SOB did to my generation, he is NOT going to get away with again! As I've stated before, his lies about our troops being 'reminiscent of Ghengis Khan' in Viet Nam will not be tolerated peacefully in this war! While my friends were pelted with all manner of human waste in a gauntlet of long haired hippie freaks in the 60's as they excited their Army buses in San Francisco to board their planes home. They were called 'baby killers' and other horrendous insults by people in the streets, when they returned from Viet Nam, thanks to what this lying freak-show lied about them on national TV. John sKerry deserves to be in jail for what he did to my generation. He was a traitor then, and he's showing his true colors again.

On Tim Russert's Sunday show, he said our troops should not be invading Iraqi homes in the dead of night. He is trying to plant, again, in American minds, the picture of marauding troops misbehaving, and I will not stand for it! I will shout him down in every forum available to me, starting with this one.

Do you remember tales of "wacked out" Viet Nam vets becoming street people, drug addicts, or hermits? There were a few, and I went to school with some of them, who "lost it" when they returned home. Contrary to what Dan Blather, et al, would have had us believe, it was NOT due to their time in the war, i.e., the horror of it all. It was due instead to the way they were treated when they returned to America. Instead of being hailed as returning heroes, they had refuse thrown at them from passing cars, with insults and repugnant stares sent their way if they had the temerity to wear their uniforms in public. I repeat, this will NOT happen again if I have any say in the matter!

A Warning To Other html Idiots

I have never made any secret of my total ignorance of all things "html", in fact my friend Mike, now deceased "Bunker Mulligan" offered to re-design this pitiful site...my only problem with it was that I had no clue as to how I could keep the site current. Thanking Mike, as best I could, I returned to the tried and true blogspot site.

My attempt at trying to make friends with blogrolling.com, I registered my domain name through their site. I think I paid $19.95, or more for 2 years for www.dagneysrant.com, I was hoping that is was in some way a mea culpa for all of their months of publishing my updates, although they do not seem to want to do so now.

After registering, I discovered that they have no templates or formats to set up the actual site. Needless to say, it's not the easy road to building the new blog that I'd envisioned. Progress is slow, but steady, and until I get a presentable site created, I will continue to post here.

News Flash & Frustration Levels

Watching the news tonight, I hear they are going to allow us grannies to board the plane with cuticle sissors...finally common sense reasserts itself? Not on the left. Their response? They say the administration is trying to save money, and what we really need are more people to do the searches. Translation: Add TSA employees = more folks on the government payroll. As soon as common sense begins to show it's shy head, the left stomps on it with their socialistic attitudes.

Now that I have that out of my system, I'll add my "news flash". While my readership is abysmally low, but also knowing that Santa has a laptop headed for my Christmas stocking, I decided that it may be the time for me to bite the proverbial bullet and get a real-live domain name. I love blogging, and my husband has been urging me to take it more seriously. He knows that it has been primarily a venting mechanism, but the numbers I've drawn...up until my problems with blogroll.com...made me take a 2nd look.

Dagney's Rant, a.k.a. www.dagneysrant.com, will take the place of blogspot.com very shortly. WAIT! Don't go there yet! Hopefully by the end of the weekend, I will have it up and running. I know it will look spiffier [is there such a word?] than this site, but you know I'm an html moron, so don't expect too much.

You can count on my posting again, should something attract my ire between now and when Dagney's Rant is up an running.

Blogroll & An Iraqi's Opinion

If anyone has a clue as to why blogrolling.com is not accepting manual blogroll updates, I'd appreciate a clue. I'm not the only one who has been experiencing a problem, either. My pal Rosemary has been having a problem too. She tried to help me, to no avail. Any wonder my stats are in the crapper?

On a lighter note, I was so happy to see our friend Alaa, of The Messopotamian back online today.

"I am always astonished at people wondering about how the Iraqis feel about the American and allied presence in Iraq. Was not the present Iraqi Goverment elected by 8 million people at the risk of their lives? Are the more that two hundred thousand soldiers and police not Iraqis, or perhaps they came from Mars? The first formally requested that the mandate of the Multi National Forces be extended, and the second are fighting and dying side by side with Allied forces. The President spelled out very clearly who is the enemy. "

It is truly astonishing, Alaa. Thank you for making some excellent points from Iraq.
