Popping In From The Left Coast
UPDATE: Thank you, Mike Thomas, for setting me straight on the Lawrence DiRita being a political appointee. My apologies to my readers for not having done my homework. I can only excuse myself for being on someone else's computer, on time that is not my own. However, I stand by my point. Who do you think did the research for Mr. DiRita, Mike? Since he is a relative short-timer, how would he be able to do indepth research in order to make the statement? He would only know basically what he had been told by long time DoD employees. AFSME members were the ones providing him with the data, IMHO. Here I sit, in my Club G'itmo Orange T-shirt, awaiting my hosts' eventual wakening, and anxious to get started on the day's adventures. We're going to visit the Ronald Reagan library, and I figure it is the only venue in Southern California where I might be safe to wear this shirt! I will definitely have to take a photo and e-mail it to Rush to add to the gallery. As I was reading the Drudge Report this morning, he had two different stories about the Able Danger story that I could not resist writing about. (I hope they sleep awhile longer!) The first story is all about the Pentagon's denial of knowing about Atta before 9/11. The 2nd flatly contradicts it: "The officer, Scott J. Phillpott, said in a statement on Monday that he could not discuss details of the military program, which was called Able Danger, but confirmed that its analysts had identified the Sept. 11 ringleader, Mohamed Atta, by name by early 2000. "My story is consistent," said Captain Phillpott, who managed the program for the Pentagon's Special Operations Command. "Atta was identified by Able Danger by January-February of 2000."In the case of the Pentagon story, who is speaking? "But Lawrence DiRita, a Pentagon spokesman, said a review of materials related to Able Danger has so far turned up no evidence that it identified Atta, the reputed leader of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon."
Let's take a minute and examine the quoted individuals in these two reports, because it does have something political to say to us. One, Capt. Phillpott, is a military man. His Commander in Chief is President Bush. As we know, most military personnel fully support the President. The other, Lawrence DiRita is a "Pentagon spokesman". Translated, that means a Pentagon bureaucrat, and likely a member of the Association of Federal, State, Municipal Employees, or AFSME. My brother is a bigwig in that union. This union endorsed and supported John Kerry or Howard Dean, I can't remember for sure which it was, but my brother was disappointed. He wanted Dick Gephart. Considering my previous posts [scroll down] on this matter, do you see where I am going with this? The spin machine for Shrillary's candidacy, and Slick Wilie's legacy is still in high gear, but this time, there's a counter-spin.
This Guy Deserves A Medal!Gary Northern, of McClennan County, Texas, deserves to have won a medal, but instead, he's facing jail and a fine! Where can I go to donate to his fine? "Witnesses said the driver swerved the truck in and out of the makeshift memorial Monday night. The protesters who are camped out in Crawford expressed outrage at the vandalism."When a holy icon is used by a bunch of athiests, pacifists and clueless lefties, the situation calls for correction. Mr. Northern should be given an award! The End Of 28 YearsWhat a shame! I guess this is what she's been asking for; "The document states the Sheehan[s] have been separated since June 1, and it's unclear if the divorce papers will be served to Mrs. Sheehan at her vigil location in Crawford, Texas, or back at the couple's home in Vacaville, Calif. "How can someone be so blind? Cindy, you really should have learned about what you are protesting against before you went off half-cocked!
Bill Beat Me To This Post!Bill Crawford, of "All Things Conservative" beat me in posting about the most recent bogus poll by the Liberal media, a.k.a., MSM. "According to the poll, the breakdown of respondents is 39% Republican and 49% Democrat. This does not represent the country's political landscape(after the last election the breakdown was 37% Republican and 37% Democrat), and given that 80% of Democrats believe the president is doing a miserable job you can't expect the poll results to reflect anything differently given that they made up a large majority of those polled."He didn't mention that 90% of Republican's thought the president is doing a GOOD job! Don't let the liars get to you, do your homework when they make statements you find difficult to believe.Going To CaliforniaYep, sure am, much as I hate being away from Texas. I leave Saturday to reconnect with old friends from school, and to attend my baby [6'3"] son's wedding....And to try to keep from getting beat upon mercilessly when I am confronted with the expected Bush-bashing. As you may have noticed, I am not one to shy away from expressing my opinions, but since I will be staying with a dear friend who holds the same views, that should help. I just hope my Club Gitmo T-shirt gets here before I go. I want to wear it to the Reagan Library! Wearing it anywhere else could put my life in danger! I also plan to take my shirt with Dubya pointing his finger, and the words "I'm saving your a$$, like it or not!" I am taking two books on the plane, "Men in Black", by Mark Levin [I'm nearly done with it.] and "The Third Terrorist" by Jayna Davis [I've been saving it for the trip!]. Too bad I'm done with the Swift Boat Vet's book! That'd stir some conversations! It actually did, too, when I took it on a trip just before the election! Who, me? Stirring the waters? Nah....thankfully classmates.com shows that 68% of my fellow grads are conservative. There may be hope for that blue state yet! But if I don't come back after Saturday, you'll know what happened to me!
Slick Willie's Legacy Slips Another RungTry as he might to rewrite history, Bill Clinton's administration's actions keep smacking him in the backside. Despite putting Jamie Gorelick on the 9/ll commission, instead of testifying in front of it, the truth just keeps slipping out! Her creation of walls between the Defense Dept., the FBI, the CIA, and any other law enforcement groups from sharing information, has been found to be more destructive anyone ever thought possible! Even after Sandy Burglar tried to cover the Administration's tracks at the National Archives, the truth is coming out!"Weldon told reporters that in September 2000, the unit recommended that information on Atta be turned over to the FBI 'so they could bring that cell in and take out the terrorists' but that never happened. Lawyers at the Pentagon rejected the advice since Atta and his cohorts were in the country legally. 'In fact, I'll tell you how stupid it was, they put stickies on the faces of Mohammed Atta on the chart that the military intelligence unit had completed and they said you can't talk to Atta because he's here on a green card,' Weldon said. "Y'all remember Atta, right? The leader of the 9/11 operation? History is better than a lie detecter at sorting out the truth. Face it, Lover Boy, you'll go down in history as a disgraced, impeached philanderer whose administration was one of the most corrupt and damaging administration in the history of America. Your charm will die with you, and all you'll have left is history's chronicle.Who Got Hold Of Cindy?I wrote about the woman, a mother of a fallen hero, who is making a spectacle of herself near the President's ranch in Crawford, TX. By now, everyone has seen her and her group, as the story is running all over every cable news program, at least once an hour. What they aren't talking about is why she has changed her tune? Interestingly, the usual suspects in the news don't want to talk about that! The story her hometown newpaper is totally different than the one she's telling now. [hat tip: Laura Ingraham radio show]"In Henson's story, Cindy Sheehan explained carefully, "I now know he's sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis ... I know he's sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of faith." Sheehan also said the trip to Seattle helped connect her family to others that had lost a son or daughter in Iraq. Sheehan said sharing their story with those families was rewarding, as was the time she got to spend with her own family.
"That was the gift the president gave us, the gift of happiness, of being together," she said in the story. "You have to wonder, who got to her? What turned her into this radical peace activist? Maybe she's just trying to get out of paying taxes? The really sad part is what this must be doing to her son Casey's buddies in his unit. To them, I want to say, "Hey Guys! You are all heroes, and your work was and is appreciated by Iraqis, and most of America! God bless you one and all."NARAL's DesperationI find it fascinating to watch the lengths the left will go when they are desperate, it's usually quite amusing. Yet this ad, which CNN has, not surprisingly, agreed to carry, is so full of lies, I cannot believe anyone would actually air it! "It shows images of a bombed clinic in Birmingham, Alabama. "The ad is false. And the ad misleads when it says Roberts supported a clinic bomber. It is true that Roberts sided with the bomber and many other defendants in a civil case, but the case didn't deal with bombing at all. Roberts argued that abortion clinics who brought the suit had no right use an 1871 federal anti-discrimination statute against anti-abortion protesters who tried to blockade clinics. Eventually a 6-3 majority of the Supreme Court agreed, too. Roberts argued that blockades were already illegal under state law.The images used in the ad are especially misleading. The pictures are of a clinic bombing that happened nearly seven years after Roberts signed the legal brief in question." [www.factcheck.org should be in everyone's favorites list.]Is there not some law against this type of lying? If not, there should be! ADDENDUM:
I'm listening to Sean Hannity's show, and hearing the father of another fallen hero. His son JT was killed in action, and he too met with the President. He retells the story of the President hugging his wife and kissing her on the head, while asking "How you doin', Mom?" I was so moved by this story, because as the man told Sean, the only other person to kiss his wife on the head was his deceased hero son! He said hugging Dubya was like hugging an old football pal from high school, and that his genuiness was palpable.
Then I remembered a news quote of this woman who is standing outside of President Bush's ranch, telling a reporter that "He called me 'mom'. I thought it was disrespectful." Now that is either perspective, or a downright perversion. In her case, she sounds perverted.
